Available in grocery and specialty food stores nationwide in January 2016, the McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oats single serve, on-the-go cups will be offered in four popular flavors: Maple Brown Sugar, Apple Cinnamon, Vanilla Honey, and Original.

“McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oats Single Serve Cups are perfect for consumers craving more convenient, yet still nutritious morning meal options,” said Thomas Perlstein, Director-Branded Marketing, Bay Valley Foods, LLC (a TreeHouse Foods company). “McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oats Single Serve Cups are microwavable and ready in 3-minutes, which is 10-times faster than traditional steel cut oats.”

As time for breakfast preparation continues to decrease, the demand for pre-measured and easy-to-prepare oatmeal steadily increased by 32 percent last year - faster than all products in the hot cereal category, according to Nielsen Total US xAOC*.

Oatmeal and steel cut oats are experiencing significant nationwide growth on American breakfast tables, accounting for 81 percent of hot cereal unit sales. McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oats continues to be a market-leader, as the company distributes multiple popular varieties, including McCann’s newest Gluten-free Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oats, which launched during the third quarter of 2015.

McCann’s Classic Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal embodies rich texture and nutty flavor that is uniquely McCann’s. The classic is made from 100 percent whole grain Irish oats and contains vitamins and nutrients that further processing may remove.

All varieties of McCann’s Irish Oatmeal are grown and milled by farmers operating small-size fields (40-80 acres) to ensure consistently high-oat quality. McCann’s utilizes its own drying facility in its state-of-the-art mill, which was opened in 2014. McCann’s high-quality oats are grown in the rich, fertile plains of Ireland.

About McCann’s Irish Oatmeal

Since the 1800s, McCann’s Irish Oatmeal has been warming the hearts, minds and souls of the most discriminating oatmeal lovers. The story of McCann's Irish Oatmeal dates back to 1800 when John McCann built a mill at Beamond, four miles from Drogheda on the east coast of Ireland. In the early part of the century, exports of McCann's Irish Oatmeal increased enabling the inhabitants of New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Detroit, San Francisco, Montreal and Vancouver to enjoy the distinctive, nutty flavor of Steel Cut Irish Oats. In 1964, family-owned Odlums Group acquired John McCann's business and transferred production to its own oatmeal mill, which had been in operation since 1910. In 2008, Sturm Foods acquired the McCann's Irish Oatmeal brand, and in 2010 Sturm was acquired by TreeHouse Foods.
