FIGHT DRAGON BREATH…NATURALLY!
XYLITOL INFUSED FOR ADDED ORAL HEALTH BENEFITS.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 9, 2019) – Sencha Naturals proudly announces the addition of xylitol to its popular line of SEN CHA Green Tea Mints. The natural sugar-free sweetener pairs with green tea for a powerhouse of oral health benefits. The addition of xylitol comes alongside a reintroduction of two old favorites from the Flavor Archives: “Morning Lychee” and “Lively Lemongrass.” The xylitol-infused mints and re-introduction of the two flavors will be launched at this month’s Fancy Food Show in San Francisco.

Xylitol has gained traction as a mild sweetener and oral health booster. An all-natural sugar substitute, xylitol is a carbohydrate that is very low on the glycemic index (on a 100-point scale where glucose is 100, xylitol rates at a very low 7). In addition to having a negligible effect on insulin and blood sugar, studies show xylitol helps fight cavities and tooth decay1, perhaps by inhibiting the growth of bacteria. This has made it a popular ingredient in toothpaste, chewing gum, and now SEN CHA Green Tea Mints.

Research for green tea is even more prolific, with multiple studies showing its benefits on oral health. Green tea has been shown to eliminate bad breath2, reduce gum disease3, prevent cavities4, and prevent plaque5. These benefits are usually attributed to the antioxidants in green tea (specifically the catechin EGCG), which have antibacterial and antiviral properties. SEN CHA Green Tea Mints contain sencha extract and whole-leaf matcha (powdered green tea) for a double-dose of antioxidant potency.

Perhaps most notably, the entire line of SEN CHA Green Tea Mints is 100% sugar-free. Most bad breath is caused by bacteria, which feeds off of sugar. Most mints contain sugar as their main ingredient, which defeats the purpose of a breath mint. Sugar makes bacteria grow, which worsens bad breath, and thus any mint that contains sugar is merely masking odor rather than addressing the root cause of bad breath. SEN CHA Green Tea Mints are sugar-free, and their xylitol and green tea blend helps promote overall oral health.

Green Tea Mints are not just functional, but also wildly popular for their unique flavor profiles. With 12 blends in its assortment, Sencha Naturals has the largest flavor variety of any natural mint company. Customer favorites include “Pink Dragonfruit” and “Tropical Mango,” among other exotic flavor blends.  SEN CHA Green Tea Mints come in two packaging options: stylish round canisters and sleek pouches of resealable “pocket mints.”

All flavor varieties of Green Tea Mints are natural, vegan, kosher, and sugar/gluten/GMO-free. SEN CHA Green Tea Mints are pressed in small batches in the company-owned Los Angeles facility, and packaged in two convenient containers: round canisters, and pocket pouches.
