The four new cocktail enhancers debut today at the Fancy Food Show, which runs January 17-19 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA.
Crafted Cocktails develops all-natural, low-calorie, gluten-free mixes for use at home, that possess the sophisticated and unique flavor profiles previously found only from skilled mixologists. Crafted Cocktail six mixes and four Shrubs are extremely versatile in that the flavors of each mix are designed to respond to different alcohol types. The sweet, sour and spicy flavor notes are dial up or down, depending on the type of spirit they are mixed with – and even taste great with club soda.
The new Shrub flavors are making waves as the Asian Pear Shrub just received a 2016 Gold Medal award from tastings.com with a score of 89 points, and was awarded both “Best Buy and “Highly Recommended”. What’s old is new again, as Shrubs were developed centuries ago to preserve seasonal fruits for use year-round. Shrubs are reemerging in popularity as the custom cocktail ingredient of choice for mixologists everywhere. Crafted Cocktails were born when founder, Felicia Vieira, was frustrated by the limitations of cocktail mixes available at mainstream retail. She wanted to enjoy the same unique mixes she experienced at restaurants and bars, at home. Recognizing an opportunity, she began working alongside mixologists at her favorite bars and restaurants in the San Diego area to better understand some of the secrets behind the unique mixes and flavors they created. Armed with this insight, she began experimenting in her kitchen to develop her own original all-natural, 100% agave mixes, testing them out with friends at parties and garnering consistently rave reviews. The notion of making Shrubs came to Vieira from memories of her grandmother, who made Shrubs to keep her fruit for the winter to make chutney and fruit cake, and then used the juice for cocktail mixes with homemade spirits.
